Plymouth Argyle Women faced a tough 4-0 defeat against Watford, dropping them into the relegation zone in the league standings.
The game started with Watford applying pressure right from the kick-off. Argyle struggled to keep the ball and spent a lot of time defending. Their keeper, Lily Felgate, had to make several saves early on to keep the score level.
Despite their efforts, Watford took the lead in the 15th minute. A cross found Ellie Head, who scored easily. This goal gave Watford the confidence they needed, while Argyle seemed to lose their grip on the game.
Things didn’t get better for Argyle as Watford scored again just before halftime. Gale rounded Felgate and slotted the ball into an empty net. It was a tough pill to swallow for the home team.
In the second half, Argyle tried to turn things around but struggled to create clear chances. They made some substitutions to boost their attack, but Watford struck again, making it 4-0.
Despite the loss, Argyle has a chance to regroup. They’ll be looking to bounce back in their upcoming cup match against Stoke City. It’s a chance to focus on something positive and hopefully get back on track.
