Caerphilly’s Plasyfelin Primary is set for a major upgrade with a new school and nursery planned for the area
Caerphilly: Exciting news for the local community! A new school building is on the way for Plasyfelin Primary. The ward councillors are really pumped about it.
They say this new setup will give kids a top-notch educational experience. The old school will be taken down in stages to make room for a shiny new 420-place primary school and a 60-place nursery.
Located off Lewis Drive, the new site will also feature a car park, an all-weather games area, and both hard and soft play areas, if everything goes according to plan.
Councillors Shayne Cook and Jamie Pritchard have been pushing for this change for years. They’re thrilled to see things moving forward. They believe this new build will really benefit the kids.
Plus, they mentioned that the community has been asking for more facilities. They’re encouraging everyone to share their thoughts on the project.
Education at Plasyfelin Primary will keep going during construction, which is great news. They’ve got a plan to phase the work carefully and use temporary classrooms while the new building goes up.
A pre-application consultation is open until January 14, and after that, the council will likely submit the planning application. If you want to check out the plans and get involved, head over to theurbanists.net for more info.
