Michael Edge, previously jailed for similar offenses, faces new charges after attempting to meet an underage girl for sex
Stockport: So, there’s this guy, Michael Edge, who just can’t seem to learn his lesson. He was caught again trying to meet up with a girl he thought was underage. This isn’t his first rodeo; he was already jailed back in 2018 for trying to meet a 12-year-old.
Last time, he got a year in prison after some paedophile hunters confronted him right outside his home. It was a real scene, with angry parents showing up after they saw the whole thing go down on Facebook. You’d think that would scare him straight, right? Nope.
This time, he was chatting with someone posing as a 14-year-old girl. He even asked if he was being set up. But instead of a date, he got a surprise visit from the same hunters. They called the cops, and he was arrested again.
In court, the prosecutor laid it all out. Edge had been talking to two women pretending to be teens, and things quickly turned inappropriate. He even made plans to meet one of them in Newton Heath. But that didn’t happen, thankfully.
His lawyer tried to argue that he wants to change and understand himself better. But the judge wasn’t having it. He pointed out that Edge had been in this situation before and still went ahead with it. Now, he’s looking at two-and-a-half years behind bars.
It’s just wild how some people don’t get it. Let’s hope this time he really thinks about his actions.
