A new housing project in Pembrokeshire is set to begin construction soon, promising much-needed homes for the community
Tenby: Exciting news for the folks in Pembrokeshire! A housing development is finally taking shape. The local council has just confirmed a pre-construction service agreement for the Brynhir project.
They’ve picked Morgan Construction from Carmarthen to handle the job after a thorough tender process. Work is expected to kick off in the summer of 2025, but there are a few hoops to jump through first.
They need to meet planning requirements and keep an eye on ecological concerns, especially since it’s a busy tourist area. The whole project will roll out in eight phases, which means some homes could be ready sooner than others.
By 2029, the plan is to have 125 new homes available. This includes 93 affordable units, 16 for shared ownership, and 16 for the open market. Plus, there will be play areas and easy access to the town.
Councillor Michelle Bateman is thrilled about this development. She believes it’s a big win for Tenby and the surrounding area, especially for those in need of affordable housing.
If you’re interested in one of these homes, make sure to fill out a housing application to get on the Choice Homes register. If you’re already on it, you’re all set for now.
There will be some local connection requirements, but details will come out closer to when the first phase is ready. For more info, check out the Choice Homes Pembrokeshire website or reach out to the Housing Development Team.
