Planners have approved the conversion of barns into holiday lets near an ancient site in Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire: So, guess what? The planners just gave the green light for some barns at a farm near an Iron Age site to be turned into holiday lets. Pretty cool, right?
Ariana Grammaticas and Alewyn Muntingh put in the request to convert two old farm buildings at Pencraig Fawr into three holiday spots. They figured it was time to make better use of the place since farming there isn’t really a thing anymore.
The folks behind the project said the buildings are in good shape and don’t need much work to become cozy holiday accommodations. They’ve got their own little area, and with a few tweaks, they’ll fit right in.
They want to keep the charm of the original buildings while making them comfy for visitors. Plus, they’re not planning to change much about the surrounding area, which is nice.
Now, here’s the interesting part: Pencraig Fawr is just a short walk from an ancient site that dates back to the Iron Age. It’s a cool piece of history, and the planners made sure the new holiday lets won’t mess with that vibe.
Cadw, the heritage agency, didn’t have any issues with the plan. They said the views between the ancient site and the barns are blocked by trees and hills, so it should all work out just fine.
In the end, the planners gave the thumbs up for the project, so it looks like we’ll soon have some new holiday spots in Pembrokeshire!
