Plans have been submitted to relocate Pembroke Dock’s police station to a former council building, aiming for a more efficient policing hub.
Dyfed Powys Police, with help from Asbri Planning Ltd, is looking to change the use of this old Public Information Centre into a police station. It seems the old building is just sitting there, not being used, and they think it could work better for the police.
The police say this new place would help them set up a more efficient hub for their operations. They’re ready to sell the current station once they get the green light for the move.
The old council building used to host various services, but since the council has shifted to more online services, it’s been empty since early 2024. Keeping it up is costing the council money, so they’re keen to see it put to good use.
Interestingly, they won’t need to make any changes to the new building. It’s already suitable for what they need, and there’s enough parking for the staff. The transition should be pretty smooth, like moving a business back into a space.
Now, all that’s left is for the county planners to give their thumbs up.
