A beloved pub in Pelsall has successfully secured extended hours for its operations
Pelsall: A popular pub in the area just got the green light to stay open longer. The Queens pub on Norton Road asked Walsall Council to change its license so it could host more private events and show major sports matches.
Before, they could serve drinks and entertainment until 12:30 am on Fridays. Now, they can keep the fun going until 1 am from Monday to Saturday. Sounds like a good time, right?
They initially wanted to sell drinks in the car park and use the beer garden until 10:30 pm, but they pulled those requests after getting some pushback from neighbors. Luckily, three out of four objections were dropped after that.
Grace Billingham has been running the pub since July 2021, and it’s clear she’s doing a great job. The pub has been active in the community, supporting local sports teams and events like the Pelsall Carnival.
The committee noticed that the pub had already been operating with extended hours through temporary permits without any problems. To ease concerns from neighbors, the pub agreed to keep track of noise complaints and provide a contact number for any issues. They also promised to limit late-night hours to 50 times a year.
