Join the Peasedown Community Library as a volunteer and make a difference
Councillor Karen Walker, who manages the library, mentioned that even with just 700 books, they’re really making an impact. Last month alone, over 200 people came through the doors.
Reading is not just fun; it’s great for mental health too. It helps reduce stress and keeps our minds sharp. The library is hoping to find new volunteer librarians to assist with sorting and collecting books.
You only need to commit to a couple of hours a month, and they’ll provide all the training you need. The library is right next to Peasedown St John Primary School on Bath Road.
They’re open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, so there are plenty of opportunities to help out. Plus, being part of the Libraries West consortium means you can return books to any library in the South West.
If you’re interested in volunteering, just shoot an email to Cllr Karen Walker at peasedownlibrary@hotmail.com or check out their Facebook page for more info. It’s a great way to give back to the community!
