Liverpool: So, you know how Paul McCartney has always wanted to bring back that live gig vibe from the Beatles’ early days? Well, he finally got to do it! It was nearly 50 years after he first pitched the idea, but it happened in 2018.

The Beatles stopped touring back in 1966, and their last big show was at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. After that, they only played a surprise rooftop concert in London. Paul had this dream of playing in small pubs again, just like they did when they were starting out. But, you know, things didn’t quite go as planned back then.

When the Beatles split in 1970, Paul had already released a couple of solo albums and formed Wings. They did their first tour in 1972, hitting up student bars and small venues, which was kind of like what he wanted for the Beatles.

Fast forward to 2018, and Paul made it happen! He surprised fans at The Philharmonic Dining Rooms in Liverpool while filming for Carpool Karaoke with James Corden. People had no idea he was going to show up, and when he did, it was like a dream come true for everyone there. They got to hear him play some classic Beatles hits right in their local pub. How cool is that?
