A man has been sentenced for paying mothers to livestream the abuse of their children
Peterborough: A disturbing case has come to light involving a man named Peter Swan. He was sentenced for paying women in the Philippines to let him watch their children being abused on livestreams.
Between 2015 and 2023, Swan used social media and dating apps to reach out to these women. He offered them money in exchange for videos or live streams of their children in sexual situations, which is just horrifying.
Things took a turn when police executed a search warrant in February 2023. They found Swan uploading an indecent image of a child online. During the search, they seized his laptops and phone, discovering nearly 3,000 indecent images of children.
Even after being interviewed and released on bail, Swan continued his sick behavior. He was arrested again in November 2023 after more Skype messages came to light. He was still viewing indecent images and using apps to pay for more abuse.
On December 18, Swan was sentenced to 16 years in prison at Peterborough Crown Court. The judge, Sean Enright, described Swan’s actions as a “sustained campaign against children in a third-world country.”
PC Alex Cochrane from Cambridgeshire Constabulary expressed how shameful it was for Swan to exploit vulnerable women for his own twisted pleasure. He emphasized that keeping children safe is a top priority for the police.
Swan pleaded guilty to multiple counts related to the sexual exploitation of children and making indecent images. The judge made it clear that each child involved represented a separate tragedy, leading to consecutive sentences.
