The company’s parent group, The Compleat Food Group, says this is all about keeping up with changing demand. They’ve kicked off a 45-day consultation to figure out how to reduce staff across different departments. It’s a tough call, but they want to ensure the factory can keep going in the long run.
A spokesperson mentioned they’ll be there for the employees during this rough patch, offering support and advice. It’s not the first time Pork Farms has faced scrutiny; they were fined a hefty £800,000 last year after a couple of young workers had serious accidents. It’s a lot to take in for everyone involved.
