Stockton: A grandmother is in a tough spot with her grandson, James Rollinson. He just got out of prison and is already breaking a restraining order again.

On November 7, just hours after his release, he showed up at her house asking for cash. This isn’t the first time, though. He’s been in and out of trouble, and this was the 31st time he broke the order.

His gran raised him and is really the only family he has left. His lawyer mentioned that he leans on her for support, but that’s the one person he’s not supposed to contact.

She tried to help him out by giving him £50, hoping he’d leave her alone. But he came back just days later, asking for more money and food.

Things escalated when he kept calling her, asking for £325. That’s when she decided to call the police. On November 30, he even knocked on her window asking for cash again.

She’s been feeling awful, especially after a heart attack, and his visits are stressing her out. She just wants him to stop coming around asking for money.

His lawyer said she’s hoping he’ll change and not fall back into drugs, but it’s like they’re stuck in a loop. He gets out, contacts her, she helps, and then it starts all over again.

Rollinson pleaded guilty to breaching the restraining order multiple times. The judge was pretty stern, reminding him that his grandmother is 71 and under stress from his visits.

In the end, he was sent back to prison for 16 months. It’s a sad situation, and you can’t help but feel for the grandmother.
