Blackpool: So, there’s this nurse, Catherine Hudson, who got into some serious trouble. She was caught sedating stroke patients just to make her job easier. Can you believe that? She even got a seven-year sentence for it!

It all started back in 2018 when a student nurse overheard Hudson suggesting giving a sleeping pill to an elderly patient. That raised some red flags, and the hospital bosses got involved. Fast forward to now, and she’s officially off the nursing register.

During her trial, it came out that she sent a WhatsApp message saying she sedated one patient “to within an inch of her life lol.” How messed up is that? She was found guilty of mistreating patients and even teaming up with a junior nurse to sedate another one.

The panel that reviewed her case said her actions were totally unacceptable. They were shocked by how she treated vulnerable patients. It’s just sad to think someone would exploit others like that.

In the end, they decided she can’t practice anymore. But there’s a catch: the striking-off order won’t kick in for 28 days, so they put her on an interim suspension for 18 months just in case she tries to appeal.
