A section of Nottingham’s tram network will close for repairs, affecting travel plans for passengers on January 26
Nottingham: So, here’s the scoop. Tram passengers in Nottingham need to brace themselves for some changes. A part of the tram network is shutting down for essential repairs on January 26. This means no trams will be running between Wilkinson Street and The Forest.
But don’t worry! There’s a replacement bus service that’ll be running every 10 minutes to help you get around. It’ll also stop at Radford Road, near the tram stops, so you won’t be left stranded.
Just a heads up, it’s a good idea to check the routes before you head out. Regular tram services will be back in action by 6 am on January 27. Trevor Stocker from NET mentioned that keeping the tracks in good shape is super important for safety and reliability.
He also pointed out that some of the tracks have been in use for over twenty years, so a little wear and tear is expected. These repairs are crucial for keeping everything running smoothly.
They’re doing their best to keep disruptions to a minimum, but they appreciate everyone’s patience during this time. Plus, with the replacement bus service, you should be able to get where you need to go without too much hassle.
Oh, and just so you know, ticket prices recently went up a bit. An adult day ticket is now £5.50, and a single ticket is £3.40. This increase is said to be in line with inflation and the rising costs of running the network.
