Wirral: The council has decided to halt all bin collections this week because of the icy weather. They’re worried about safety, especially with a yellow weather warning in place.

Temperatures are expected to drop to around -2C, which is pretty chilly. This is the seventh day in a row that the area has faced weather warnings.

Next week, they plan to resume collections, but only for green bins, which are for household waste. If you usually have your grey bin collected, you’ll need to put out your green bin instead.

The council posted on Facebook, explaining that conditions aren’t safe for the crews to work. They understand this might be frustrating, especially if your recycling bin is overflowing.

They’re prioritizing the collection of general household waste, so no extra bags will be picked up this time. They promised to update everyone about grey bin collection dates next week. Stay tuned for more info!
