A North London restaurant faces closure after police found it operating illegally during a license suspension amid shocking allegations.
North London: So, there’s this Turkish restaurant called Alaturca Lounge that’s in a bit of hot water. The police found out it was still open even though its license was suspended. Can you believe that? Neighbors had been complaining that it was acting more like a nightclub than a restaurant.
One resident even claimed the owner got super aggressive and told him he would “f*** his mum in her grave” when he confronted him about the noise. Yikes! That’s some serious drama.
The restaurant had its license suspended for three months last year because of all the complaints about noise and late-night partying. But it seems like the owner didn’t take that seriously at all. Police say they caught it open way past the allowed hours, even as late as 4 AM!
During one visit, officers found a DJ playing music for about 40 customers, and people were smoking shisha inside. They reported seeing some really drunk folks, one of whom couldn’t even walk straight. Talk about a wild night!
When the police asked for CCTV footage, the owner just brushed them off and said, “Take me to court.” Now, the police are pushing for the council to revoke the restaurant’s license completely. They think the owner just can’t follow the rules.
Residents are backing the police, saying the owner has no respect for the law. One person even said the owner spat on him and threatened him right near a playground. That’s just not cool, especially with kids around.
Brent Council is set to review the case soon, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens next. Will they shut it down for good? We’ll have to wait and see!
