Newcastle: Schools in the North East are finally getting back to normal after Storm Éowyn caused quite a stir. Many schools had to close due to the storm’s impact, but good news is on the horizon.

On January 24, a total of 56 schools shut their doors because of safety concerns. The storm really made a mess of things, affecting roads and even damaging properties. Emergency services had their hands full with overturned lorries and roofs flying off buildings.

Some schools are still dealing with the aftermath. A few were left without power, and others had damage that forced them to stay closed longer. But most are set to reopen on January 28, which is a relief for everyone.

Walker Riverside Academy in Newcastle had some minor damage but is ready to welcome students back. They even posted an update saying everything is good to go for Tuesday morning.

Seghill First School in Cramlington also had issues with electricity but confirmed they’re back on track. They thanked everyone for their patience and are excited to see the kids again.

However, it’s a bit unclear for Stakeford Primary School and Norham St Ceolwulf C of E V.C First School. They were closed on January 27, but as of now, there’s no word on their reopening status.
