North Devon Council honors dedicated staff members for their long service and commitment to the community
North Devon: Recently, the North Devon Council took a moment to celebrate some amazing staff members. They’ve been working hard for decades, and it’s about time they got some recognition!
Five staff members received long service awards in December, totaling over 150 years of service. How cool is that? Andy Tapp, Chris Searle, Nick Marsh, Nikki Gordon, and Shirley Loder were all honored for their loyalty and dedication.
Shirley Loder stands out with an impressive 40 years at the council. She started as a teenager in 1984, processing parking tickets. Over the years, she moved to the licensing team and became a real expert in her field.
Then there’s Andy Tapp, who’s been with the council for 25 years. He’s now the ICT manager but began as a systems operator after working through an agency. Quite the journey, right?
Chris Searle also hit the 25-year mark. He’s a key player in the waste and recycling team and has been serving the North Devon community for over 40 years. Talk about dedication!
Nick Marsh has spent 25 years with the North Devon Crematorium team. He’s done everything from being a technician to maintaining the beautiful gardens. He’s seen a lot of changes over the years.
Nikki Gordon, the head of organizational development, has also reached 25 years. She started full-time after some agency work and now oversees HR and learning development. A true asset to the team!
Ken Miles, the chief executive, expressed his gratitude, saying it’s fantastic to celebrate these staff members. Their hard work and loyalty are invaluable to the council and the community. It’s great to see them recognized for their incredible milestones!
