A Newport school went into lockdown after a former student allegedly assaulted teachers, leaving one hospitalized and others injured
Newport: A secondary school had to lock its doors after a former student reportedly attacked some teachers. It was a pretty chaotic scene.
This all went down at Newport High School on Tuesday. Emergency services rushed in after three teachers were hurt, and there was some damage to school property and cars too. Two teachers had minor injuries, but one had to go to the hospital just to be safe.
The ex-student involved is thought to be between 11 and 14 years old. The school quickly put its emergency plan into action, locking down the building to keep everyone safe. They even posted on Facebook to let folks know what was happening.
