The Kestrel Way playpark in Duffryn, Newport, has reopened after renovations, providing a safe and fun space for local children to enjoy.
Newport: The Kestrel Way playpark in Duffryn has just reopened after some much-needed renovations. It’s great to see the kids have a fresh place to play!
This park is one of several in the area that got a makeover after the community had a say in what they wanted. It’s all about making sure the kids have safe and fun spots to hang out.
The project kicked off with funding from last year’s budget, and they really listened to what the locals had to say during the planning stages. It’s nice when a community comes together like that.
Work started last summer, and even though it took a bit longer than expected, the park is finally open! Local councillor Rhian Howells and the Mayor of Newport, Councillor Ray Mogford, were there to celebrate.
To mark the occasion, kids from Tredegar Park Primary School got to be the first to try out the new equipment. How fun is that? Rhian Howells expressed how thrilled she was to see the kids enjoying the park.
The Mayor also shared his excitement, hoping the park will be a cherished spot for families for years to come. It’s all about creating those lasting memories, right?
If you’re looking for the park, it’s right near Tredegar Park Primary School and not too far from Tredegar House. Just plug Kestrel Way, Newport NP10 8WF into your sat nav, and you’re good to go!
