A new group in Frome offers support and fun for children with additional needs and their families
Frome: A new stay and play group is kicking off on January 8. It’s designed for kids with additional needs and their families. The Pod Charity is running it at Wesley Methodist Church.
This group, called SEED Pod, will meet every other Wednesday. It’s a great chance for kids aged eight and up to play games, do crafts, and just hang out after school. Parents can join in too, making it a nice community vibe.
Sue Paxton, the charity manager, shared how excited they are to help more kids. Some kids can’t join the regular youth club because of a waiting list, so this is a perfect solution. It’s all about creating a safe space for friendships to blossom.
Families can suggest activities based on what the kids enjoy. There’s no need to book ahead, but a £2 donation per child is appreciated. Plus, there’ll be a little café with snacks and drinks to keep everyone fueled up.
They’re also teaming up with Focus Frome to boost health services for these kids. Focus Frome will be at the SEED Pod sessions on specific dates, which is a fantastic addition.
And there’s more good news! The Pod’s youth club is expanding with the reopening of Vallis Youth Centre soon. They’re launching a second club to meet the growing demand, which is super exciting for the community.
So, if you’re in Frome and know someone who could benefit, check out SEED Pod every other Wednesday from January 8 to March 26. For more details, you can find info on The Pod’s social media or the Frome Town Council website.
