A recent poll shows that many Brits are unhappy with Keir Starmer’s performance, raising concerns about Labour’s future.
London: A new poll has revealed that only 16% of Brits believe the country is on the right track. This is a significant drop in optimism since Labour took over.
According to the Ipsos survey, a whopping 62% of people think the UK is heading in the wrong direction. Back in May 2021, nearly half felt positive about the future, but that number has plummeted.
When asked to rate Labour’s performance, the average score was just 3.7 out of 10. The younger crowd, aged 18-24, was a bit kinder, giving them a five, but older folks were less forgiving.
Even Labour supporters aren’t thrilled, giving the government a score of 5.6. In comparison, the Conservatives and Reform UK received much lower ratings.
In the latest Techne poll, only 25% of voters said they would support Labour in an election, with the Conservatives and Reform UK trailing closely behind.
A Labour MP pointed to the decision to cut winter fuel payments as a major misstep. They believe it could cost them votes in the next election.
On the other hand, Conservative Party chairman Nigel Huddleston criticized Labour’s approach, claiming it has led to high taxes and poor immigration policies.
Reform UK MP Lee Anderson echoed these sentiments, saying the government has failed to prioritize its citizens, leading to widespread frustration.
