The former Hilton hotel in North Wales has new owners and a fresh name, IXORA Hotel & Spa, following a recent sale.
Dolgarrog: Exciting news! The former Hilton hotel in North Wales has a new name and owners. It’s now called IXORA Hotel & Spa. Pretty cool, right?
The Ainscough family put a lot of money into this place, and they got some help from the Welsh Government too. They invested around £8 million. But, the surf lagoon next door had to close last summer due to some mechanical issues.
Even though the surf lagoon shut down, the hotel kept running under the Hilton name until recently. Last month, Begbies Traynor stepped in as the administrator for the hotel, and they worked out a deal to sell it.
So, the hotel is now owned by Interesting Hotels, but the exact sale price hasn’t been shared. The hotel has 106 guest rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a fitness center, a luxury spa, and even meeting rooms. Sounds like a great spot to relax!
Interesting Hotels already has a few other places in their portfolio, like Chateau Rhianfa and Hawkstone Park. Gavin Wright from Enterprise Hotels said this was a fantastic chance to grab a newly built hotel near Snowdonia National Park, which is a popular spot for visitors.
Ulrike Le Roux, the managing director of Interesting Hotels, mentioned that this acquisition is a big step for their group. They’re excited to welcome the IXORA team and can’t wait to see what’s next!
