Ashton-under-Lyne: Allwyn has announced big changes to National Lottery scratchcards. They say it’s the biggest update in 30 years. The company runs Lotto and Thunderball, and they’re testing new technology at an Asda store.

This new system is called the SCiQ retail ecosystem. It has a 27-inch digital display for players and a touch screen for staff. It also includes a secure unit for storing scratchcards.

The technology speeds up sales and gives stores useful data. Retailers can easily manage inventory and see real-time sales reports. This is a first for the UK National Lottery.

When customers choose their games, staff select them on the touch screen. The system records the ticket info and dispenses the scratchcards automatically.

Jenny Blogg, Allwyn’s Operations Director, shared their excitement about this new technology. She believes it will improve the experience for both players and retailers. They worked closely with Asda to create this system and are eager to see how it performs in the coming months.
