Bridgend council has approved a new HMO despite local concerns about noise and parking issues from residents
Bridgend: So, the council just gave the green light for a new HMO on Coity Road. It’s going to be a six-bedroom place, which is a big change from a regular family home.
The property will have shared spaces like a kitchen, living area, and even a garden. It’s about 1.3 miles from the town center, so it’s pretty central.
Now, I know some folks are not happy about this. Eight residents sent in letters complaining about noise and parking problems. They’re worried it might lead to more antisocial behavior.
One local councillor, Steven Bletsoe, mentioned that we really need to protect family homes in the area. But the planning officers think it won’t cause any major issues and will actually be a good fit for the community.
In the end, the committee approved the plans without any objections. They also gave the thumbs up to another HMO project nearby. Looks like Bridgend is changing!
