A new car wash in Hirwaun was vandalized and set on fire, leading to significant damage and a costly repair bill for the owner
Hirwaun: So, there’s this new car wash that just opened, right? It’s called Barny’s Hand Car Wash, and it’s already had a rough start. Some idiots decided to drench the place in diesel and set it on fire. Can you believe that?
The owner, Ryan Barns, was just getting his business off the ground since June, and now he’s looking at thousands of pounds in repairs. He found out about the damage when someone from the industrial estate told him about a smashed window. At first, he thought it was just storm damage, but then he walked in and the whole place smelled like diesel.
Ryan was pretty shaken up. He even said he wasn’t sure how the fire didn’t spread more. Maybe the rain helped put it out? His office was a mess, with his bin melted to the floor and parts of his furniture ruined. And his Ford Focus RS? They smashed the window and poured petrol inside. He’s looking at around £7,000 to £8,000 in damage to the car alone.
He’s really confused about why someone would do this to him. He told the news that he doesn’t have any enemies and gets along with everyone. The police are investigating, but he hasn’t heard much from them since they first came to check it out.
It’s just a shame to see someone trying to make a living get hit like this. Ryan’s hoping someone will come forward with information, but for now, he’s just left wondering why this happened.
