Exeter: A mystery winner has just hit the jackpot in Exeter, taking home a whopping £1 million from the lottery. And guess what? Hundreds of their neighbors are also celebrating some nice wins!
The big winner, who’s keeping their identity under wraps, scored £418,019. The rest of the prize money, over half a million, is being shared among 667 other lucky folks in the area.
This exciting news comes from the postcode EX2 8TE, which snagged the Millionaire Street prize. It’s located in Alphington, and it’s the first big win of 2025!
More than 660 players in the EX2 8 area won amounts ranging from £793 to £2,379, depending on how many tickets they had. Plus, this win means local charities are getting a nice boost too.
Exeter is the first of five locations to be announced as Millionaire Street winners this month. With the People’s Postcode Lottery, a third of the ticket price goes to charities, and local organizations will share a total of £1 million to help their causes.
Danyl Johnson, the Postcode Lottery ambassador, congratulated the winners, saying it’s a fantastic start to the year for Exeter. He also highlighted how great it is that so many people are winning together, benefiting local charities in the process.
This draw was promoted on behalf of the Postcode Education Trust, which funds educational organizations, especially in emergencies. Charities like Save the Children and UNICEF UK are among those benefiting.
