Popeyes has yet to open its Swansea restaurant, leaving fans puzzled and waiting for updates on the long-anticipated location
Swansea: So, there’s this whole mystery about a Popeyes that was supposed to open up in Swansea. They announced it would be ready by December last year, but here we are, a year later, and nothing’s happened. Back in January 2024, they were all excited about expanding in the UK with 30 new spots, and Swansea was on the list.
They picked a spot in the Enterprise Zone in Llansamlet, and even in September, a spokesperson said it was still on track to open. But fans are still left hanging. WalesOnline reached out to Popeyes for an update, but they just said they couldn’t share anything right now. Super frustrating, right?
Popeyes has been a hit in other parts of Wales. Remember when they opened a drive-thru in Cardiff Bay? People were queuing overnight just to snag free food for a year! One guy even camped out in his pajamas for nine hours, and he had never even tried Popeyes before. Crazy dedication!
And it was a similar scene in Newport when another Popeyes opened. A guy named Kassim Hayat was one of the first in line, and he got free food for a whole year after waiting since 5:30 am. He was so pumped about it, saying he loved the chicken sandwiches and thought it was great for the area. It’s all about bringing in jobs and businesses, right?
