Seattle: A mother is accused of spanking her son to death. She reportedly used an extension cord because he didn’t finish his chores.

The 29-year-old woman allegedly got angry and told her 14-year-old son it was “butt cutting time.” This happened last Thursday, January 28. She hasn’t been formally charged yet.

Police say she made her son stand before beating him for about an hour. He became unresponsive during the beating, according to reports.

After five minutes, she called 911. Officers found the boy with serious injuries. He was rushed to a local medical center but sadly did not survive.

Police reported that the mother was arrested for investigation of homicide. The arrest report states she was angry because her son didn’t complete his chores.

She allegedly ordered him to take off his clothes before getting the extension cord. The report claims she shoved him against the wall, causing him to fall and go limp.

During her first court hearing, the woman did not appear. Her bail was set at $3 million. Her public defender argued for her release, citing her trauma and limited resources.

She is currently held at the King County Jail in downtown Seattle. The case has drawn significant attention in the community.
