Stockton: A 12-year-old girl was hit by a car while walking home. Tori Walton had just finished school at Outwood Academy and was heading to her grandmother’s house. The accident happened on Fairfield Road near Upsall Grove.

The impact caused Tori to fall and injure her head, needing 17 staples. Instead of helping, the driver fled the scene. Thankfully, a passer-by stopped to help and called an ambulance.

Tori was taken to North Tees University Hospital for treatment. Doctors performed a CT scan, which thankfully showed no serious injuries. Meanwhile, police are searching for the driver who left Tori hurt.

Tori’s mother, Charleigh McCann, expressed her shock about the incident. She said, “It still hasn’t sunk in.” Charleigh described Tori’s injuries, saying she looked like she had been in a fight.

Charleigh shared her worries about Tori’s recovery. She mentioned that Tori is scared to sleep, fearing she might not wake up. Although the scan was clear, Charleigh still feels anxious.

Charleigh noted that Tori was on the phone with a friend and didn’t check for traffic. However, she believes the driver should have stopped to help. “I want them caught,” she said, showing no sympathy for the driver.

The hit-and-run happened around 2:55 PM on January 28, involving a silver estate car. Cleveland Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
