Bridgwater drivers can breathe easy as A39 roadworks finish early, easing traffic woes.
Bridgwater: Great news for drivers! The roadworks on the A39 are done earlier than expected. This means no more one-way system, which is a relief for everyone.
The work was mainly to connect the new Agratas gigafactory to the power network. It was supposed to drag on until February, but the team worked hard and finished ahead of schedule.
Now, there will be some temporary traffic lights for the remaining work, but it’s way better than the one-way hassle. The lights will be up for a couple of weeks in January and February, but it’s manageable.
With the A39 open again, traffic can flow freely, which is a big win for those traveling to Street, Glastonbury, and Wells. Plus, it’s a nice break for drivers dealing with other road upgrades in the area.
There’s still some work to do before summer, but the council will keep everyone updated on the schedule. Councillor Richard Wilkins expressed his gratitude for the hard work and patience of the community during this busy time.
So, if you’re in Bridgwater, enjoy the smoother rides for now! Just keep an eye out for those temporary lights coming up.
