Conwy: So, here’s the scoop. Repairs on the Primrose Hill Bridge over the A55 are finally kicking off after years of waiting. This bridge has been a bit of a headache since a lorry hit it back in 2019, bending some beams and leaving traffic lights in place ever since.

People are pretty fed up with how long it’s taken to get this sorted. The temporary traffic lights have cost nearly £260,000, which some folks are calling outrageous. It’s about time something was done!

The good news is that the Welsh Government has found the cash to fix the bridge. Starting January 26, the eastbound A55 will be closed overnight for five weeks. They’ll be working from 8 PM to 6 AM, so if you’re driving that way, plan for some detours.

Traffic will be rerouted via the A547 Rhuddlan Road, which might add a bit of time to your journey. They’re hoping to get the bridge back to its full strength after that nasty strike in 2019. It’s a bit of a hassle, but it’s necessary.

And if you’re coming off the A55 at junction 24, expect a slight detour around the A547 roundabout before getting back on the road. Meanwhile, the Sea Road Bridge in Abergele is still waiting for its turn, and it doesn’t look like repairs are coming anytime soon.

When asked about the delays, the Transport Secretary said fixing roads is a priority, but there are other projects that need attention first. So, hang in there, everyone!
