Officers were hot on his heels and caught him just outside the bathroom. They even found a mobile phone stashed in a manhole in his garden. Can you imagine? Cheshire Police shared footage of the arrest, and it’s pretty funny. Etchells, handcuffed, casually said “sweet” to one of the officers when they told him he was being taken in.
This 27-year-old from Windermere Road ended up in Chester Crown Court after pleading guilty to some serious charges, including dealing heroin and having an offensive weapon. He got a sentence of three years and seven months. Not exactly a walk in the park!
During the court proceedings, it came out that the police had been tracking two phone numbers linked to Etchells. These numbers were part of a drug operation selling crack cocaine and heroin in Crewe. They even had a nickname for it—the “H” line. It was a busy little operation, with messages flying out to a long list of contacts every day.
When the police executed a search warrant at his home, Etchells made a run for it, but they caught him. They found a phone on him and suspected he was trying to get rid of more evidence. They even discovered a phone in the manhole after he flushed the toilet. Talk about a messy situation!
Inside the house, they found more items linked to drug sales, including scraps of paper with names and numbers of known drug users. And get this—a huge knife was found in his bedroom! When questioned, he claimed it was for gardening. Yeah, right!
