A young delivery driver in Midlothian faces challenges after his moped was stolen, impacting his job and finances.
Midlothian: A 22-year-old delivery driver named Paul Reid is feeling pretty down after his moped was stolen. He woke up one morning to find his Red Honda Vision, which had a Domino’s Pizza delivery box, missing.
Paul lives in Bonnyrigg and relies heavily on his moped for work. Losing it has hit him hard, especially since he can’t afford to buy a new one. He’s understandably angry and feels a bit distrustful now.
He said the theft happened sometime between 1 am and 8 am. When he checked outside around 8:10 am, all he found was a sheet that had been covering the bike. It had been parked safely outside his home for over a year with a disc lock on it.
Now, without his moped, Paul has to take public transport to work, which is going to cost him more in the long run. Plus, he has to share mopeds with other drivers, meaning he won’t get as many hours as he used to.
It’s really frustrating and devastating for him. He’s reached out to Police Scotland for help, hoping they can do something about it.
