Cardiff: So, the Met Office has dropped some weather maps showing when and where it’s gonna snow in Wales today. It’s all happening after they put out a yellow weather warning for ice that kicked in yesterday evening and is still on until noon today.

We’ve been dealing with some pretty chilly weather lately, with snow popping up in different parts of Wales. Looks like this wintry vibe is sticking around for a bit longer.

Today, the Met Office is saying we might see some light rain or snow in the southern parts of Wales. They’re predicting a cold start with some sunshine, but it’ll get hazy as the morning goes on. By the afternoon, expect thick clouds and maybe a bit of light rain or snow in the far south. It’s gonna feel cold, with highs only reaching about 5 °C.

And guess what? This chilly weather isn’t going anywhere tonight either. The forecast says it’ll be cloudy, especially in the south, but we might get some clear skies later on. Just be ready for freezing fog and maybe a few wintry showers. The temperature could drop to a frosty -7 °C.

With all this in mind, we’ve checked out the hour-by-hour weather maps to see when and where the snow will hit Wales today. If you want the latest news from Wales, don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter!

At 9 am, it’ll be a pretty clear morning across Wales, but it’s gonna be cold—think 0 °C in Aberystwyth and even colder in Wrexham and Newtown.

By 1:30 pm, things will still be dry and clear, but keep an eye out for some hail that might be creeping in from the Bristol Channel.

Then, around 3:30 pm, we’ll start seeing a mix of hail, rain, and snow in parts of south Wales. Pembrokeshire might get some hail, Cardiff could see rain, and there’s a chance of snow in Bridgend county.

Fast forward to early evening, and we could be looking at heavy snow in the southeast valleys, with some areas near Maesteg and Pontypridd getting up to 4mm of snow per hour. Meanwhile, north Wales should stay mostly dry.

By 7 pm, the mix of hail and rain will be moving towards England, but some parts of south Wales, especially Powys and Merthyr Tydfil, might still see some snow.

Finally, by 10:30 pm, most of Wales should be clear and dry, but there could be some hail moving in from the Irish Sea towards the north Wales coast. Expect temperatures around -2 °C in Caernarfon and slightly warmer in Swansea and Cardiff.
