Storm Eowyn is set to hit Gloucestershire with strong winds and heavy rain, especially in the early hours. Stay safe and secure loose items!
Gloucestershire: So, Storm Eowyn is on its way, and it’s bringing some serious weather with it. The Met Office is warning us about strong winds and heavy rain starting Friday morning. They say the worst of it will hit between midnight and 7 AM, so if you’re out and about, be careful!
It’s going to be wild, with gusts reaching up to 57 mph in places like Gloucester and Stroud. The rain should ease up before rush hour, but those winds will stick around all day. It’s a good idea to secure anything loose outside your home, just in case it gets blown away.
They’re even saying there’s a risk to life with this storm, which is pretty serious. The jet stream is pushing low pressure our way, and it’s going to cause a big change in the weather. So, if you’ve got plans, you might want to rethink them.
Coastal areas are under a yellow warning, and we could see some big waves and spray. The Met Office is keeping a close eye on things, especially since the storm could bring snow to parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland. It’s definitely one to watch!
Mike Silverstone from the Met Office mentioned that all parts of the UK will be affected at some point. If you’re driving, especially in the North West or Yorkshire, be prepared for some disruptions. High-sided vehicles and motorbikes could be at risk of being blown over, so stay safe out there!
And if you’re planning to travel by train, be aware that services in the north could be canceled or delayed. It’s going to be a bit of a mess, so keep an eye on updates. By Saturday, things should calm down a bit, but we’ll still feel the effects of Storm Eowyn.
