Wales: The Met Office has just put out new yellow weather warnings for ice, covering most of Wales. They’re saying that while the main concern is ice, some higher areas might even see a bit of snow.

It’s been pretty chilly lately, with freezing temps leading to snow and slippery roads. People have been waking up to find their cars frozen solid, and the pavements are like ice rinks. The new warning for Thursday night into Friday suggests things won’t be getting any better.

The first warning kicks in at 4 PM on Thursday and lasts until 10 AM Friday. It covers all of north and mid Wales, plus some parts of south Wales. The Met Office warns that scattered wintry showers will fade overnight, but icy patches will likely form as temps drop below freezing. If you’re in the hills, you might see a couple of centimeters of snow.

There’s also a second warning for Friday morning, from 3 AM to 11 AM, affecting southwest England and south Wales. They’re expecting rain, sleet, and maybe some snow, which could create icy spots on untreated surfaces.

Some areas in Wales even saw snow on Thursday morning, leading to school closures across the country. If you want to stay updated, you can join our WhatsApp news community for the latest breaking news.
