Wales braces for more snow and ice as the Met Office issues a new warning
Cardiff: So, the Met Office has just dropped a fresh snow warning for Wales. After a chilly weekend, it seems like the wintry weather is sticking around a bit longer.
This new yellow warning is all about snow and ice. They’re saying we might see some icy patches and sleet snow showers starting overnight on Monday. It could mess with travel plans, so keep that in mind.
The warning kicks in at 5 PM on Monday and lasts until 10 AM on Tuesday. If you want to stay in the loop, you can join their WhatsApp news community for daily updates.
They’re predicting icy stretches tonight because of the wet surfaces from earlier rain and some snowmelt. Plus, we can expect frequent sleet or snow showers affecting Wales and parts of northwest England.
As for snow, they think we might see a few centimeters above 200 meters, with a slight chance of more than 5 cm in some areas. Low levels might get a light dusting too.
The warning covers quite a few areas, including Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, and of course, Cardiff. So, if you’re in any of these places, be prepared for some wintry weather!
