Two men face serious charges following a shooting that left one man injured in Hartlepool
Hartlepool: So, two guys, Derem Turner and Luis Nazare Fonseca, just showed up in court. They’re facing some heavy charges after a shooting that really hurt someone.
This all went down on January 2, and it sounds pretty serious. The police got reports of gunfire, and a man ended up with some nasty injuries. Not good at all.
Nazare, who’s 20, is in deep trouble. He’s charged with attempted murder, having a gun without a license, and even dealing drugs. Turner, just 19, is also facing the attempted murder charge.
Neither of them said anything in court, and now their case is heading to a higher court. They’re both stuck in custody until their next hearing on February 5.
Oh, and there were a few other folks arrested too, but they’ve been let go on bail while the police keep digging into what happened. The scene was pretty wild, with a bunch of police cars and a big cordon set up.
Police have assured everyone that there’s no ongoing threat to the public, which is a relief. They’ve been checking out several places as part of their investigation.
