Video shows men attacking youths in Armadale. They claim to have believed the teens were responsible for an earlier assault.
The man claimed he sought justice because a group attacked him earlier outside the train station. He said he called the police. He and others looked for his phone and then met a group they thought were responsible. Police Scotland knew of it, but no official report existed. The youths are about 14 years old.
The video shows two youths walking, with another youth close behind them. Two men ran across the road toward them, and a third man then appeared. The men confronted the teens, with the initial claim suggesting they were retrieving a stolen phone.
The video shows a scuffle where one youth appeared pinned to a fence. After a bit, the men seemed aggressive, and one man threw a teen to the ground, pointing aggressively. Another scuffle seemed to occur as a man in a yellow hat walked up, and the youths were near a fence.
A man grabbed a youth by the clothes, shaking him slightly. The man in the yellow hat tried to stop him, but the bald man aimed punches at the youth. The video gets hard to see here, and it is not clear if the teens fought back a lot. The man in the hat got pulled away.
Someone online defended the adults, with one man saying he was assaulted. He claims young males took his phone near Station Road. He claimed they looked for the phone later and found the same individuals, asking about the phone.
He says arguments broke out, and one of them attacked his friend, as the video shows. He claims he was attacked earlier and thought these teens were adults, seeming bigger and attacking first. He says the darkness made things harder.
A parent defended their child, saying their child had nothing to do with it. The parent says the phone story is false, and the teens were not involved in anything earlier.
Police are aware of the video, which seems to show an assault on youths. This took place in Armadale around 8 PM on February 1, 2025, and enquiries continue.
