Los Angeles: So, you won’t believe what happened to Mel Gibson. While he was chatting away on the Joe Rogan podcast, his home in Malibu went up in flames due to wildfires. Talk about a rough day, right?

Mel, who’s 69, said it was super emotional and devastating to lose his home. But he tried to stay positive, mentioning that his family is safe and sound, which is the most important thing.

After wrapping up the podcast in Austin, Texas, he came back to find his place was “completely toasted.” Can you imagine? He said he felt uneasy during the podcast, knowing his neighborhood was on fire. When he got home, it was just gone.

He lived there for about 14 or 15 years, so it really hit him hard. Mel mentioned losing personal stuff like photos and files that can’t be replaced. But he kept reminding himself that those are just things, and his family is okay.

During the podcast, he also vented a bit about how the city handled the wildfires. He criticized California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, saying he didn’t do enough to tackle the environmental issues that have been a problem for ages.

Mel joked that maybe all the tax dollars went to Newsom’s hair gel instead of fixing the forests. It’s a tough situation, and he’s not the only one feeling the heat—literally!

By the way, Mel won an Oscar for Braveheart back in ’96, so he’s no stranger to tough times. But losing a home? That’s a whole different ball game.
