Manchester: Max George, the singer from The Wanted, just shared some pretty serious news. He’s going to have heart surgery a lot sooner than the doctors thought. He found out he has a “2:1 block in my heart,” which means his heart isn’t beating right. He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday, and after a scan, he realized he can’t wait too long for the surgery.

He posted on Instagram that his heart rate has been low for almost a week. Max said, “we don’t have too much time to wait,” which sounds really concerning. He’s hoping to be home for Christmas, but it’s all a bit scary right now.

Max expressed how tough the last few nights have been but felt really grateful for all the support he’s received. He mentioned that both friends and strangers have reached out, and it’s given him a much-needed boost. His family is also feeling the love, which means a lot to him.

According to the NHS, a heart block happens when there’s an issue with the electrical signals that control the heartbeat. Max shared some photos of himself in the hospital, wires and all, saying a full CT scan isn’t something he’d want to do again.

It’s been a rough time for him, especially after losing his bandmate Tom Parker last year to a brain tumor. The Wanted, which formed in 2009, had some big hits like “All Time Low” and “Glad You Came.” Max has also been on shows like Glee and even danced on Strictly Come Dancing, where he met his girlfriend, Maisie Smith. They turned their friendship into a romance last year.
