Max George shares his emotional journey post-heart surgery as he vows to embrace 2024 with positivity and gratitude for his health
Birmingham: Max George has had quite a year, huh? Just before Christmas, he found out he had a heart issue and ended up in the hospital. Talk about a scare!
He had surgery to get a pacemaker put in, and thankfully, he’s out now. Max has been super open with his fans about everything, sharing his journey as he celebrated the New Year.
He posted some heartfelt pics from 2024, showing off his performances, his recovery scar, and sweet moments with his girlfriend, Maisie Smith. He even shared a snap from his hospital stay. Max wrote, “2024.. Certainly a year I won’t forget! So lucky to have the life that I have.”
He wished everyone a great night and hoped 2025 would bring good health. While in the hospital, he learned about a blockage in his heart, and the surgery took about two and a half hours. He also shared a photo of his scar, which is right under a tattoo for his late bandmate, Tom Parker.
Now that he’s back home, Max is reunited with Maisie and their dog. He recently reached out to fans for advice about pacemakers, as he’s got another hospital visit coming up. He’s been feeling a weird flicking sensation in his chest and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced that.
Max said, “I’m in the hospital tomorrow for another check-up because I’ve been getting this like flicking feeling in the left-hand side of my chest.” He’s just trying to figure it all out since this whole situation was so unexpected.
Last month, he shared how grateful he was for the surgery, calling his pacemaker the best Christmas present ever. He thanked the NHS staff for their incredible care and mentioned that he still has a few tests to go through but feels ready to tackle life again.
Max’s journey has been a rollercoaster, but he’s staying positive and looking forward to what’s next. It’s great to see him so hopeful and connected with his fans during this tough time.
