A large fire in Walsall has prompted a swift response from firefighters as smoke fills the sky, affecting residents nearby.
Walsall: A big fire broke out on a street in Walsall today. Firefighters are on the scene at Westgate in Aldridge, working hard to control the flames.
Photos shared online show thick black smoke rising high into the sky. The West Midlands Fire Service is advising everyone to steer clear of the area.
People living nearby have been posting updates and pictures in a local Facebook group. One person mentioned how many fire trucks were there and how bad the smoke was.
Another resident warned others to be careful driving because of all the parked bin lorries. The smell from the fire is pretty awful, too.
At around 2:20 PM, the fire service tweeted that they had ten crews tackling the severe fire on Westgate. They urged folks to avoid the area if they could.
