Birmingham: The police were out in full force tonight, searching for a six-year-old boy named Melab. He went missing in Ladywood, but thankfully, he was found safe and sound.

The little guy was last seen around 3:30 PM, wearing a blue jacket and grey school trousers. He had his scooter and a Spiderman backpack with him.

To help with the search, a police helicopter was circling the Edgbaston and Ladywood areas. Officers were also going door-to-door and checking CCTV footage, asking the public for any information.

They even searched near the Five Ways Roundabout, urging anyone who spotted him to call 999 right away.

Local residents jumped in to help. One mom, Louise Atkinson, was on her way back from picking up her daughter when she saw Melab’s frantic mother.

Louise shared, “It was around 3:50 PM when we saw her. She was really upset and asking for CCTV footage. We tried looking around but couldn’t find him.”

After the police arrived and started their search, the community rallied together. Thankfully, a kind person found Melab near Lee Bank Middleway, bringing relief to everyone involved.
