Bury: A man in his 20s had a rough day when he ended up in the hospital after a sledging mishap. It all went down on a snowy Sunday afternoon near Stockton Drive.
Firefighters had to step in after he took a tumble down a big slope. They were quick to respond, and the North West Ambulance Service took him to the hospital with some serious injuries.
People nearby noticed a lot of emergency vehicles at the scene. It seems like everyone was out enjoying the snow that day, sledging with their families.
The Met Office had already put out weather warnings for snow and ice, and they were right on the money. Another warning was set to kick in later that evening.
According to a spokesperson from the fire service, they got the call around 1:30 PM. Fire crews from Bury, Whitefield, and Bolton rushed over with special rescue gear to help the guy out.
They worked hard for about an hour and a half before he was safely handed over to the ambulance team. It was quite the scene, but thankfully, help was on the way.
