Jordan Stewart took a 58-hour bus trip across Europe using a FlixBus voucher
Edinburgh: A bus enthusiast named Jordan Stewart just got back home after an incredible 58-hour journey across Europe. He took this epic trip using a voucher he got from FlixBus.
At just 19, Jordan flew back to Edinburgh from Sofia, Bulgaria, where his adventure wrapped up. He’s a huge fan of FlixBus and got the voucher after sharing some cool photos of their buses in the snow.
He decided to use the voucher for the longest trip he could find, which took him from Glasgow all the way to Bulgaria. Jordan said, “I wanted to see how far I could go with it.”
He was also keen to check out a specific train in Sofia, which he had heard about. “I wanted to see one of the trains parked in the yard,” he mentioned, adding that he was excited to experience European coach travel.
The drive between Glasgow and Sofia is about 1,950 miles, which would take around 35 hours if you went straight through. But Jordan broke it up into four legs, hopping on a new bus each time.
His first leg took him from Glasgow to London, then on to Paris. He even braved the heat during the Paris Olympics, saying it was sweltering at 33°C. “I was trying to grab a bite to eat, and it was a bit of a struggle,” he laughed.
After Paris, he made his way to Munich, where he was feeling pretty worn out. He joked about the people in front of him reclining their seats, which is always a pain on long trips.
Finally, he took a 23-hour bus ride through Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia to reach Bulgaria. “That route was really interesting,” he said, clearly enjoying the journey.
Jordan kept himself entertained with snacks, music, and videos. “I packed my bag full of juice and snacks, and I was taking photos out the window,” he shared. He didn’t get bored, but it was definitely tiring.
FlixBus’s Senior PR Manager, Sarah Bartlett, expressed delight at seeing passengers like Jordan take advantage of their services. She noted that their comfortable buses are a great alternative to the hassle of flying.
After a few days exploring Sofia, Jordan flew back to Edinburgh. He had just passed his driving test and is now looking to get his coach license. Sounds like he’s got some exciting plans ahead!
