Liverpool: Luke Evans is still in shock after a fire wiped out his years of hard work. The blaze happened in a portacabin that served as his lab, where he had stored 12 years of research.Luke, a PhD student and CEO of Scintilla CME Ltd, was just two months away from submitting his work when the fire broke out. It’s believed to be a suspected arson, and he got the call about the fire just hours after he had been there.

He had been juggling a lot that day, from a broken bath to a car that wouldn’t start. He joked with his wife about things happening in threes, never expecting the third would be this devastating loss.

Everything he had worked on, including vital experiments and equipment, was destroyed. Luke had been self-funding his research, living on a tight budget with his wife, and now he’s left with nothing.

He’s been working on this project for over a decade, hoping to create a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. Now, he’s facing the reality that he can’t just start over easily.

A Crowdfunder has been set up to help him rebuild what was lost. Donations can be made by following this link. Luke believes his technology could help the city save on electricity and water costs, making it a significant loss for the community as well.

The investigation into the fire is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the damage to Luke’s work is heartbreaking.
