A man has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for drug offenses and possession of a stun gun in Harlow
Harlow: So, there’s this guy named Richie Nkundo, 34, who just got sent to prison for running a drug operation. He was dealing crack cocaine and heroin all by himself, using what they called the ‘CJ’ drug line.
The police, through something called Operation Raptor, caught wind of his shady business pretty quickly. This whole operation was going on in Harlow from September to December 2024.
They kept an eye on him and figured out that he was using a place in Harlow to stash and sell the drugs. In December, they finally raided his spot and found about 30 grams of crack and heroin, worth around £4,000. They also discovered a stun gun and some other drug-related stuff.
Turns out, he was linked to distributing a whopping 594 grams of Class A drugs, valued at about £59,000. Nkundo admitted to having a prohibited weapon and dealing drugs, even though he had a previous drug conviction.
When he showed up in Chelmsford Crown Court, he got hit with a sentence of three years and 10 months. Detective Inspector Richard Trower mentioned that they’ve been taking down a lot of these drug operations in Essex, and it’s not uncommon to find dangerous weapons during these busts.
He pointed out that weapons like stun guns can really hurt someone, especially if they fall or have a medical issue. The violence in Essex often ties back to these drug dealers who aren’t afraid to carry weapons to scare people.
In Nkundo’s case, he was working solo, which is a bit unusual. But his past shows he was serious about dealing drugs. Now, he’s got a lot of time to think about his choices behind bars.
