Pillgwenlly: A man was found with serious injuries on a road in Newport on January 3. This happened after an alleged stabbing early that morning.
Gwent Police got a call about the assault around 5:30 AM. They found a 32-year-old man lying outside Chan’s Noodle Bar on Commercial Road, and he was in bad shape.
Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, where he’s being treated for injuries that could change his life. Local shopkeepers and residents believe he was stabbed, and it seems that’s what happened.
Commercial Road was closed for a while, with police gathering evidence until about 11:30 AM. People passing by noticed blood on the pavement and a foil blanket that emergency services used to keep the victim warm.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said they received the report of the assault at around 5:35 AM. Officers and paramedics arrived quickly, and the man was taken to the hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.
